How much does it cost?

These fees pay for the creation of your samples, uploading all of your material, and the setup/maintenance of your page. Each submission carries this one-time only fee and your submission will be in our store unless you tell us to take it out! top

Can I still sell my music elsewhere?

Of course! This is completely non-exclusive. You’re welcome to continue to put your music in other stores or in other online venues. Only thing is, they don't offer Free Shipping! top

Absolutely! We don’t want anybody to be worried about identity theft or fraud, so we make sure to use the most secure means possible to take orders. How much should I charge for my music?

That’s really up to you. However, we recommend that you try to keep prices low. This encourages fans to try new music and new artists without breaking the bank. top

How many CDs should I send?

If you are selling CDs, start by sending 5-10, one that will be opened (if sealed) and kept so that we can use it to load your music and information to our servers. If you are selling by download only, just send us the one copy to be added to our servers. top

When should I send more CDs?

We’ll let you know whenever we’re running low, and we’ll tell you how many you need to send. Of course, if you’re selling via download this is not as much of a problem, but we’ll let you know with plenty of notice if we need more. top

When and how do I get paid?

All artists and labels will be paid monthly, assuming that $5 or more is owed. If you are owed less than $5, we will roll your payment over to the following month. If your balance remains below $5, you will receive payment every quarter-year no matter how small the sum. top

Will my account expire?

Nope! This is not a subscription. When you pay to submit an album, it stays there unless you ask us to remove it (or if you don’t follow the terms of service). top

Do I have to sell a certain amount to continue being a member?

 Absolutely not! It doesn’t matter how much or how little you sell, you will remain a member as long as you abide by the terms of service and, of course, assuming that you haven’t asked us to remove you from the site. top

How can I become a featured artist?

Artists are chosen to be featured on the homepage by random selection. Every artist will be featured at some point. top

How can I update my artist notes and bio?

Simply log in to your account and choose "edit" under your account information to edit any of your member information. If you’d like to make changes to the description or notes on a particular item, simply email  with "yourbandname changes" in the subject line and let us know what you’d like changed. From there we will make the fix as soon as possible. top

I just joined, how do I locate my profile page and my music?

The simplest way is to do a site search for your name. This will provide a link to all pages that refer to you.  top

Can I add my song links to other websites?

Yes. As long as the other site approves.  top

Where do you get the links to my music samples?

Three places;  we create them from your CD, or we use an existing link from your website or some other website that allows deep linking. top

Why should I become a member?

Becoming a member is the only way to be a part of special offers, contests, and music giveaways. Plus, you’ll be the first to know about the newest features, great new music, and more! top

Do I have to be a member to buy music?

No! It is to your benefit to be a member (so you can be eligible for music giveaways, updated on your favorite artists, etc.), but it is not necessary. top

How do I buy single songs by download?

There is a red "Buy This" button next to the songs that are available for sale by download. Simply click on the button of the song(s) you want to buy and follow the shopping cart instructions from there. top

What do I do after I've paid for the songs?

Once you have completed your purchase of single songs, we will send you an email that contains the link(s) to where you can download your songs. Songs will be in MP3 format. Note: It may take a little while for us to send you this email, but you will get it within a few hours unless the order was placed after hours. top

Why does it take so long to get my downloads?

We store the music files in an offline location so we have to prepare each order manually instead of through download software. This lessens the chance of songs being compromised by hackers.  top

In order to keep our administrative costs low and offer low setup fees and free shipping,  Indie Star Search focuses exclusively on Online Shoppers.  It is less expensive to process orders for these types of customers.  Telephone and mail orders require a large clerical staff, which is much more costly.

No problem! Of course, depending on where it’s at it may take a bit longer, but we’re happy to ship to you anywhere. Please be aware that if you are outside the U.S. all payments are in U.S. Dollars. top

I tried to listen to a sample, but it doesn’t work. What should I do?

First, check the samples of another artist. If you are having trouble listening to everybody’s samples, then it is probably an issue with your computer or internet service. If the samples of other artists work, but one artist or track in particular doesn’t, send us an email at samples@tarniusmusic.com right away (making sure to include artist name and album(s)/track(s) that are having problems) and we’ll have somebody examine the files to make sure everything is input correctly on our side and fixed ASAP. We appreciate your helping us fix any problems promptly! top
